KALTIK was started in 2002 by Conor Manweiler. His idea was to produce clothing for the rollerblading scene and to support the Irish rolling scene and sponsor a team. In 2006 Kaltik made a prototype frame which was later sold on to a production company, and in 2008 the Kaltik created Kaltik Hardware and the frame was produced.
